In Advance Of A Legal Settlement, Steve Hofmeyr Apologizes For Hurting LGBTQ+ Remarks.

South African artist Steve Hofmeyr has expressed regret for his remarks on the LGBTQ+ community. Before a deal was reached with the South African Human Rights Commission, this happened (SAHRC).

Hofmeyr is required to give R100,000 to the OUT LGBT Well-being group as part of the settlement, which was a court order. The SAHRC will hold a diversity and exclusivity awareness program, and he must attend it.

Hofmeyr expressed her disagreement of a policy choice made by the Walt Disney Company to assign sexual identities to the characters in its films in a post that has since been taken down from Facebook. He argued that youngsters would learn to behave like animals if these identities were accepted and that the LGBTQ

Hofmeyr has been sued by the SAHRC and OUT as a result of his social media remarks. Since then, Hofmeyr has acknowledged that the remarks were hurtful to LGBTQ+ community members and has profusely apologized to them and anybody else who was affected by his words.

The settlement highlights the need of promoting and defending the rights of all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other personal attribute, according to the SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC).
