Death of Jazz Icon Gloria Bosman
Gloria Bosman, a renowned jazz legend, passed away at the age of 50, and Mzansi is in grief. The South African Music Rights Organisation issued a press release confirming the news of her death.
Bosman was named to the SAMRO Board at its most recent Annual General Meeting in December 2022. The company made the announcement of the appointment on social media in February. SAMRO wrote that her death was confirmed.
The death of Gloria Bosman, a board member of the Southern African Music Rights Organization (SAMRO), who passed away on March 14, 2023, grieved SAMRO.
SAMRO Board Chair Nicholas Maweni stated, “Ms. Bosman brought a perspective that consisting of a rich combination of thoughts on member ambitions as well as the path that our organization should continue to march towards. She is a composer and a performing artist.” Her Instagram feed featured a statement from her family as well.
